Ethnomusicology Class Project

For Ethnomusicology, an anthropology class I am taking at K-State for the fall 2013 semester with Dr. Jessica Falcone, the main class project is to create a portfolio with a selection of items and annotations related to music, dance, or theater.  The portfolio can be presented either in printed form or on a blog.  Readers of this blog will not be surprised that I decided to focus my project as much as possible on blues music, and therefore I also decided to post my portfolio items on this blog.

The required items for the portfolio are 6 news articles, 6 images, 6 journal entries, 1 transcribed interview with a performer regarding their artistic process, and 1 Golden Record assignment, which is an annotated list of what I would choose if I was in charge of putting together a representative sample of the music and sounds of Earth like the Golden Record that was included with the Voyager spacecraft.  Below is an outline of the various elements of the project with links to the elements that I have already begun posting to the blog.
